This was a great Memorial Day weekend. It started off by having my friend Kevin take the family out to Sun Wah. This place is known for its BBQ duck. Kevin introduced this new food to Tanya and I. It was very tasty and Tanya really enjoyed it.
Then on Saturday I took the family to St. Charles. We first went to The Little Owl and met up with the Spamers. We had a great lunch and afterwards headed out to the arts festival. This was a great festival with a small town feel. I really did enjoy walking through the displays and seeing what the local artists had come up with to show. Both families had a great time and enjoyed spending time with each other.
Sunday I took the family out to eat at Los Comales and then to the mole festival. The mole festival was a little disappointing since we saw only 1 booth actually selling any mole. We did purchase some mole and look forward to eating it this week.
Monday we used a Groupon offer and went bowling. I was surprised how we got into a good rhythm after not playing for so long. It was a nice way to spend the morning. We then went got lunch at Chipotle. We had to eat in the car as both the kids were sleeping. We returned home to escape the heat and left to the lake shore a couple of hours later. At the lake shore we saw the people of Chicago enjoying their city and lake. This is a great site for anyone to see. We then finished the walk in the Gold Coast. We found a park where Tanya would feed Daniel and Valentina could play.
It was a great holiday weekend and helped me prepare for the upcoming week.
