A calm, warm weekend in Chicago

This was another nice weekend here in Chicago.   It started by me taking Valentina to her class for a play day with her classmates.   This was the first time I attended a class at her school.  All I saw were parents watching their kid(s) do whatever they want without hurting themselves or other children.  I did speak with the other parents and had conversations on what to do with your kid during the week.  I left with some good tips.

Afterwards I took Tanya's car to get washed and then headed into the city to pick her up from the doctor.   Everything is going well with the pregnancy and Tanya is good health.  We then went to get some lunch at Don's Grill.   We had some pretty tasty food at this “hole in the wall.”   We finished the evening by watching Horrible Bosses.   It was not as good as I had hoped for but there were some great scenes that made us both laugh out loud.

Saturday started a little late but we headed out to do some shopping before ending up at the Field Museum.   We decided to become members since there is so much to do and everyone in the family really enjoys the place.  We then went to Twin Anchors to meet our friends the Simingtons for ribs and beer.

Today we left the house to try a new Indian restaurant, Himalayan, featured on a local show called Check Please.   The place was in Niles, Illinois (about 10 miles from our place).   It was amazing!   Tanya and I had a great time tasting new types of Indian food offered in their lunch buffet.   I'm sure we will back someday soon.   We then went to visit the National Museum of Mexican Art.   It was a nice, little museum with some interesting paintings featuring Mexican modern art.  There was also a group today doing folkloric Mexican dances that Valentina really enjoyed.

I'm now at home watching the Bears destroy the Lions.   I really love having Tivo and never having to worry about being home in time for a game.

I feel ready and rested to start the work week again tomorrow.
